New Season Announcement
We are now accepting registrations for the 2026 Winter Season.
Games begin in February 2026 at Gateway Pointe Elementary School in Gilbert, AZ.
About Gila Monsters Ball Hockey League
The Gila Monsters Ball Hockey League is a youth recreational street hockey program based in Gilbert, Arizona, designed to give boys and girls a fun, positive introduction to the game of hockey.
Our league focuses on:
Sportsmanship
Skill development
Teamwork
Confidence
Most importantly β having fun
No ice experience is required. Ball hockey is played on foot, using plastic blades and a ball, making it an accessible and exciting way for kids to learn hockey fundamentals in a safe environment.

Open to:
Boys & girls ages 7β14
All skill levels welcome
No prior hockey experience needed
What kids learn:
Stickhandling
Passing & shooting
Team play and movement
Respect, effort, and sportsmanship

Season: 2026 Winter Season
Weekly Schedule:
Games: Saturdays between 11:00 AM β 1:00 PM
Optional Practice: Saturdays 10:30 β 11:00 AM
(Schedule may adjust based on number of teams)

Weeks 1β2: Scrimmages & player evaluations
Weeks 3β10: Regular season (6 games)
End-of-season playoffs & final round
Awards Ceremony to close out the season
Players are placed on evenly matched teams to promote fair play and development.

Required equipment:
Ball hockey stick
